$145–$245 per month
An estimate for recurring service in your region. Repairs, filter cleans, green-to-clean recovery and openings or closings are quoted separately.
- Regional base range
- $120–$200/mo
- Per visit
- $36–$61
- Annual
- $1,740–$2,940
How this is calculated
- Base ranges come from regional climate bands: year-round swim regions, desert regions with high evaporation and scale risk, long-season, cold-winter and short-season states each price differently.
- Chemical-inclusive plans add roughly $25 to $45 per month over labor-only visits.
- Pools over 20,000 gallons, heaters, salt systems and heavy tree cover each push the quote toward the top of the range because they add time and consumables per visit.
- Weekly service is the residential norm; biweekly plans scale the monthly figure down but raise the chemical load of each visit.
- Repairs, green-to-clean recovery, filter cleans, and openings or closings are quoted separately from recurring service.
Figures follow commonly published residential pool references and are guidance, not a substitute for testing your own water. Always follow the product label and add one chemical at a time.
Frequently asked
- How much does pool cleaning cost per month?
- Recurring residential service in the US generally runs about $110 to $240 per month. Regional labor costs, whether chemicals are included, pool size and equipment complexity account for nearly all of the spread.
- Why are quotes from local companies so different?
- Scope. One quote may be a 20-minute chemical check with chemicals billed separately, another a full clean with brushing, baskets, filter checks and chemicals included. Compare what is performed on each visit, not just the price.
- Is weekly or biweekly service better value?
- Weekly is better value in practice for most pools. Biweekly saves maybe 30% on the invoice but raises the chance of an algae bloom, and a single green-to-clean recovery can cost more than several months of the difference.
- What should not be included in a monthly price?
- Equipment repairs, filter media replacement, acid washing, leak detection, and openings or closings are all separate line items. A monthly price that claims to cover repairs usually caps them somewhere in the contract.
